Venue Selection: Vevey, Switzerland

2 years Corporate, News, Weddings

Vevey is a small Swiss town located on the shores of the Leman lake in Canton de Vaud.

Serendipity plays a part in the situation of the town as it is located just next to Lavaux Unesco vineyard terraces. And it is 23 km from Lausanne, 88km from Geneva, and 15 minutes driving from Montreux.

Therefore, it is a real meeting point for any weekend event, as there are so many activities around that 3 days is not enough. This little town is an excellent option for intimate social events and destination weddings. So, if you are looking for a place to organize your next event, let me show you my top 3 hotels in the city.

Grand Hotel du Lac

This hotel is a true gem. From the moment you enter you are enveloped in a relaxing atmosphere.

The Grand Hotel du Lac was fully redesigned in 2007 by Pierre-Yves Rochon, giving the hotel an upscale fresh look and allowing it to be labeled with the Relais & Château certification. The pastel and soft colors remind you of the lake and give you a soft, cotton-like sensation. You can tell the hotel decoration is not a coincidence, every space and every piece of art was carefully chosen.

Besides the Michelin-starred restaurant and the Valmont Spa, the hotel has an outside pool overlooking the lake. On the events side, the Grand Hotel du Lac has a magnificent room called “Salle Viennoise”. The ballroom is full of history and souvenirs, ideal for Gala dinners and bespoke weddings.

This hotel is ideal for intimate social events as the maximum capacity of the room is for 120 guests (with floor dance) and 150, without.

During spring and summer, the poolside could be used for cocktails (maximum capacity for 100 guests). However, it is pertinent to point out that during July and August they do not celebrate weddings.

On the positive side, all the culinary choices for your events will be coordinated by Chef Thomas Neeser (1-star Michelin) and every event request is tailored-made by their team.

Hotel Trois Couronnes

With more than 180 years of history, the Hotel Trois Couronnes is one of the most emblematic establishments in the Canton de Vaud.

Just between business and leisure, the hotel has a spacious and bright marble lobby, that can be used for welcome cocktails (when the weather is not pleasant).

Cecile Fontannaz, the Chef of the restaurant, proposes an alpine cuisine that makes you travel from the Italian to the Swiss Alps. She is also in charge of the events’ gastronomic coordination.

They have a grand ballroom where they can welcome 150 invitees for a seated dinner. For cocktail receptions and aperitifs, they have a terrace with a breathtaking view of the lake.

This format is idyllic for classic weddings, mixing the outdoors modern style with the traditional ballroom. A truly fairytale. Also, along with the 71 rooms, the hotel has an indoor pool and a cozy Puressens Spa.

Le Deck by Baron Tavernier

In the middle of the vineyards and with a privileged view over Leman lake and the alps, the Deck is the place to be in Vevey.

The Chef Lionel Rodriguez offers a mix of Mediterranean and Alpine cuisine, simply delicious. Between the view, the attentive service, and the excellent food, you can only have a memorable time up there.

The deck could be fully privatized (outside and inside) for events, such as cocktails, dinners, and weddings, of course. However, the indoor space can only accommodate 100 guests in a seated format.

The restaurant is managed by the boutique hotel Baron Tavernier. This quaint and charming hotel has 26 rooms and a spa.

It is suitable for intimate weddings or destination weddings.
