What is the Bright Wave?

In the light of our 5th anniversary, we decided to create a new initiative called Bright Wave.

Our mission is to spotlight and support a non-profit organization, addressing their immediate requirements such as volunteer recruitment, material acquisition, enhanced visibility, financial support, and more.

We believe in the power of giving back and making a positive impact in the world. Therefore, 3% of our net income will be donated to a different organization each year.

2024 selected project: Guardianes por la Vida

Colombia is a country of great diversity, with large natural reserves, various native species and multiple distinct climates positioning it among the 12 richest countries in fauna and flora. At the same time, Colombia has a high vulnerability to climate change, due to its physical, geographical, economic, social and environmental characteristics.

In this context, Guardianes por la Vida, an initiative of Francisco Javier Vera Manzanares, Colombian activist, started in March 2019 in the municipality of Villeta, Cundinamarca as an attempt to raise awareness for climate change across the child and youth population in Colombia. Although it began in a semi-rural territory and with a group of only six 10-year-old boys and girls, today it has grown to be one of the most important environmental and climate platforms led by girls, boys and young people in the country. It makes the problems associated with the care of all forms of life and climate change visible, and positions the care of the planet as a way of exercising citizenship.

The development of the Guardianes por la Vida process, especially in the territories, is presented as a possibility to illuminate the need for action for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change, especially from young people in the areas of implementation. It is important to point out that this process will not start from scratch, but it is the continuation of the process of climate and environmental education that Francisco Javier started three years ago, building on positive impact and influence for those most affected by the climate crisis: children and youth.
